I left my big corporate career this year to pursue a dream I've had for a long time (to write a book about single moms). When I first quit and people asked me that question, I always prefaced my answer with "Well I WAS the blah-blah-of-blah....but now I am trying to write a book...plus I get to see my daughter more." It took me a couple of months to say,"I'm a writer and a mom." I think the one thing I would add to list above is to go easy on yourself as you adjust to a new pair of shoes. Once you are conscious of what is happening in your head, the answer will come back to you...and being patient with yourself helps! - Swati Bharteey Hi –

What a great article! As a coach for mom entrepreneurs, I have spoken on this topic dozens of times, but I have never seen the comparison to a computer operating system. It works so well to make this complex question of who we are as mothers and entrepreneurs simple to understand.
