WORK/LIFE TIP: Take a 21-day Vacation

What?! Of course, there aren’t a lot of working moms who have the luxury of taking a 21-day vacation on a tropical isle. I’m actually suggesting something different — take a 21-day vacation from a habit that is not serving you.

What kind of habit am I talking about? To find out, for a single day take a fly-on-the-wall perspective on your life. What are you doing or saying? Are those actions hurting you or serving you?

Here’s an example. One of my former habits was fatalistic thinking. I always saw the worst in a situation. As a result, I was constantly filled with worry, anxiety or anger. I remember taking just a one day vacation from my pessimistic thinking and seeing life from a whole new (and balanced!) perspective. What’s your ugly habit?

Why 21 days? Well, it’s said that it takes 21 days to develop a new habit and I’ve found it to be true. Try it out and let me know what happens. You can post your comments here.
