Many moms joke that they’re too busy to take or enjoy a shower. I know the feeling. With three kids – age 8, 6 and 3 – my showers are quick, efficient and practical. I rarely take time to enjoy the water hitting my back or inhale the scent of my body wash.

I’m not sure about showering myself “beautiful.” But a shower can be a refreshing wake-up and a good way to calm down when I’m the one who needs a time-out. I think a good shower cleanses the soul, not just the outer package.

My daily shower is my salvation. being clean and refreshed gives me teh energy to deal with the daily demands.
How do I shower myself beautiful? Hmmm, I take a long bubble bath, doing all the wonderful things that women need to do to make themselves look beautiful on the outside. I then moisturize and slip into my favorite robe, grab a good inspirational book to fill my soul, a cup of tea and sit on the couch that faces the window while I wait for my hair to dry, which can take a few hours since I have long hair! It doesn’t happen often but when it does, I feel beautiful and inspired.
To shower myself beautiful I use my favorite body scrub (almond scent) and oils, as well as light a candle or two, but before I even get started for this ritual – I “lock” the bathroom door and crank on the shower radio
after working 16 hrs a day mon-fri it time to make make my body beautiful. then it time to go back out to the work force again.
After a 14hour day of being grannynanny/housekeeper and shower is my solace. I use warm water with a mild shower gel.Then I wash my hair, after that I run a warm bath and sit back and relax for about 20 minutes or more ,and reflect upon my days blessings.
It sounds a bit stupid… but just shower! Instead of thinking of it as a chore necessary in order to be hygienic, think of it as a way to refresh yourself – not to mention getting a couple of minutes alone.
