Mother of one – 3 years
I’m a working mom who…
…has one of the best jobs a Mom can have. I work for a children’s wear company called Coco Bonbons. My daugher is luckier than she’ll ever know to be able to don the latest and greatest fashions of the season. I work with the factories overseas that produce our garments. I manage the production, manage the logistics and customs clearance, as well as oversee quality control and work closely with the designers to make sure everything gets translated from design to production. I am also an artist and I am working on some pieces for an upcoming holiday show…whenever I find a moment.
This is what I did today…
- 5:30 am – Wake up to work out at “boot camp” gym
- 7:30 am – Back home and sweaty…luckily everyone is still asleep so I quickly jump in the shower.
- 7:40 am – Finished showering and hear the pitter patter of my daughter’s feet.
- 7:45 am – Make my breakfast and my daughter’s while also preparing my morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack to pack for work.
- 8:00 am – Daughter is still finishing breakfast, so I hurry and finish getting myself ready.
- 8:20 am – Get daughter dressed and ready.
- 8:35 am – Kiss significant other goodbye.
- 8:50 am – Drop daughter off at daycare, head to work.s
- 9:15 am – Start work
- 5:00 pm – Work is done!
- 5:30 pm – Pick up daughter from daycare
- 6:00 pm – Prepare dinner, sit down to eat and spend time together as a family
- 8:00 pm – Bathtime and bedtime routine for daughter
- 9:00 pm – Daughter is in bed (maybe not asleep yet, but at least in bed!)…breathe…pick up, do laundry, get a few minutes of reading time in, get ready for bed myself.
- 10:30 pm – Bedtime!
My biggest career challenge since becoming a mom and how I overcame it…
My biggest challenge was and continues to be getting quality time in with my daughter. Instead of listening to the radio while driving her to daycare and then home, I use that time to talk to her or sing her favorite songs. I get a few precious hours a day with my daughter and I try to make the best out of each and every one. It is not always easy, but she is growing up so quickly and I know I’ll never get this time back.
My Top 3 Coco Bonbons collections for my daughter to wear this Fall are:
- Paisley
- Owl Holiday
