After reading a magazine, I cut out anything I’d like to save (articles, ads, etc.) for future reference. The rest of the magazine is donated to my son’s day care or recycled.
I keep the ones I know I will want to look at again at a later time. Some have great information in it. The ones I don’t want anymore I either share with friends and family or recycle.
I’d love to read more about the working mother’s perspective of raising a family and pursuing a career.
I didn’t read the requirement…When I read magazines, I cut out the articles that I am interested in and put them in the binder to refer to them later on. Then either cut out special graphics/wording for scrapbooking and then I recycle the magazines. I often ask other people if they would be interested in reading the magazine if I know they have similar interests.
I jot down anything I want to remember or refer back to and then pass the magazines on to family/friends that would be interested in reading them.
I am a cutter, I love to cut out articles and save them, for what I dont know since I rarely go back and look at them, they end up piling up in my nightstand until I then recycle them. But it is an addiction. I also use them for collages, I TRY to do one at the begining of the year. You know, poems, quotes, the body I want to achieve, things that inspire me and will keep me motivated. Then I add to it throughout the year, or that is the intent.
I do one of three things…
- keep the ones i know i will want to reread again soon
- put the home, garden, etc. ones in my guest bedroom
- give them to my daughter to cut out and make collages {perfect for pottery barn kids, land of nod, etc.}
I scan the articles that I want to keep (reduces clutter) and pass it along to friends/co-workers/doctor’s office.
There are a couple of magazines that I pass over to my parents when I am done reading them. Others I generally recycle.
I cut out all the things that inspire me and put them in my inspiration box, which is filled to overflowing right now. Then I put all the ones I don’t pass on to my sisters in a storage box under my desk, convinced that I’ll one day come up with come great home decor or craft project that allows me to reuse them. I have a couple of ideas thanks to Apartment Therapy’s re-Nest site
My kids usually get to my magazines, pulling out pictures they like and doing crafts with them. What’s left gets recycled, or passed on to someone else if the kids haven’t made too much of a mess out of it. A few magazines I like to keep for reference.
Working Mother is such a great mag. Happy to see it featured here.
I share them with family or friends if I think there’s articles of interest. Or I recycle them.
I put them in the “restroom reading repository” so that I can go back and re-read articles that were worth looking at again.
I usually let them pile up until they are at least a year old and then save the ones that interest me the most, the rest get recycled, given out or thrown out.
I collect a couple magazines that are industry related, but the majority of them end up curbside on Tuesday mornings waiting for the recycling guy to take them away.
I’m a magazine addict. I dogear pages and then tear them out when I’m done if I want to remember something, save some for kid projects and recycle the rest. If I really love it, I usually end up with so many dogears I just keep it.
I’m a writer, so I file them to look back through and make sure I don’t repeat ideas when I pitch them to editors!
send them to the school for teachers to read and recycle for cutup
